FULL RELEASE

LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Stephen Youngblood and sophomore Zak Kelm of the Swarthmore College men's tennis team have both been named to the Centennial Conference All-Conference team, the Conference announced on Friday afternoon.

Youngblood is a first-team selection while Kelm makes the second team.

Youngblood and Kelm also combined to earn second-team honors in doubles.

Youngblood makes the first team for the first time in his career.

Youngblood (Norcross, Ga. - Lighthouse Christian Academy) was the Garnet's ace at the No. 1 slot for much of the 2009-10 season, finishing with a 6-11 overall record and 3-5 record from No. 1 singles in the Centennial Conference. Ranked No. 14 in the Atlantic South region, Youngblood also holds the recognition of the being one of just two student-athletes on the All-Conference team to also be named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Kelm (Shaker Heights, Ohio - University School) makes the second team for the second consecutive season after posting an overall singles record of 10-7  and 6-2 in the Centennial Conference, mostly from the No. 2 position.

As a pair, Youngblood and Kelm also made the doubles second-team.  The duo - who are ranked No. 5 in the Atlantic South region - finished the season 10-7 in overall and 5-3 in the Centennial Conference.

The pair look to continue their stellar play this weekend in the Centennial Conference Tournament, where they will be playing No. 3 Franklin & Marshall in the semifinal match tomorrow afternoon at home. Action begins at 3:00 p.m.
