Swat Lacrosse Falls to Dickinson on Senior Day, 15-4

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team (7-9, 1-8 CC) closed out its 2010 season on Saturday, falling to Conference foe Dickinson (8-5, 5-4 CC), 15-4.

The Garnet celebrated senior day prior to the start of the game, saying goodbye to seniors Allison Grein, Abbe Muller and Carey Pietsch.

Grein made 9 saves in her final game for the Garnet.

Junior Amy Vachal and freshman Samantha Panepinto netted two goals apiece to lead the Swat attack.  Vachal would finish the season with 27 goals and 33 points, third on the team.

The Red Devils would control the flow of the game from start, scoring the first five goals of the game and allowing the Garnet only one in the first half.

Swarthmore had trouble sparking its offense in the game, turning the ball over 22 times.  Dickinson would out shoot Swat 34-15 making it difficult for Grein to make a stand in the cage.

Despite heavy pressure, Grein would put together a great senior day showing in the net with nine saves.  Dickinson netminder, Jessie Clark, would also have nine saves.

Sophomore Annelise Mowry would have the only assist for Swarthmore.  Mowry finished at the top of the stat sheet for the Garnet this season, scoring 36 goal and 45 points.

Sophomore Marie Mutryn would finish the season with 31 goals and 35 points.
