Swarthmore Downs Dickinson, 7-2
CARLISLE, Pa. - Sophomore Rosie DuBrin and freshman Emily Rosenblum led the Swarthmore College women's tennis team (9-4, 7-1 CC) to yet another decisive Centennial Conference victory over the Dickinson Red Devils (9-5, 5-2 CC) 7-2.
Rosenblum and DuBrin got the Garnet started with a 8-4 No.1 doubles win over Joelle Nitzberg and Sarah Woodward. Junior Luann Cignavitch and freshman Kelsey Johnson won the No. 2 doubles matchup to put Swat up 2-1 going into singles play.
Dubrin, Rosenblum and Johnson would put the match out of reach for the Red Devils, winning the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles matches, all in straight sets. Dubrin won 7-6 and 6-2, Rosenblum would win 7-6 and 6-3 and Johnson would take it 6-4 and 6-4.
Dickinson would only pick up one singles victory as freshman Stephanie Chia and Cignavitch would finish off the Devils in the final two matches of the day.
The Garnet women's tennis team returns to the court on Wednesday April 21st when Haverford visits Faulkner Courts. Play is slated to begin at 4 PM.
