DeLuca Takes Second To Lead Garnet Women at Osprey Invitational
POMONA, N.J. - Lauren DeLuca '10 finished in second place in the 1500 meter run (4:53.24) while teammates Rebecca Hammond '13 and Kate Gonzalez '12 weren't far behind, taking third (4.54.81) and fourth (5.06.23) respectively to highlight the Swarthmore women's outdoor track & field team's performance at the Richard Stockton Osprey Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The trio of Swat distance runners all qualified for the Centennial Conference championships - which will be held at the College - highlighting several conference-qualifying performance from the Garnet women on the gorgeous spring Saturday afternoon.
Erin Ronhovde '10 took third in the 800 meter dash (2:26.82) to qualify for CC Championships, while Mariel Feigen '10 also made the mark with her third place finish in the 400m hurdles (1:12.52).
Along with her performance in the 1500, DeLuca also earned a spot in Centennials in the 400 meter dash, as her eighth-place time (1:05.28) met qualifying standards.
In the javelin, Sarah Diamond '13 (6th, 19.36m) and Naomi Glassman '12 (8th, 18.33m) both booked places in the championship meet.
The Garnet return to the track on Saturday with the TCNJ Invite.
