No. 14 N.C. Wesleyan Too Much for Swat Tennis in 9-0 Loss
SALISBURY, Md. - The Swarthmore men's tennis team (1-2) had a rough showing in its first match of Spring Break, getting blanked No. 14 North Carolina Wesleyan Battling Bishops 9-0 on Saturday afternoon from Maryland.Swarthmore's final chance at victory fell just short as freshman Seth Udelson took the Bishops' Clayton Sonn into a third set but lost 4-6, 6-0, 13-11.
Sophomore Stephen Youngblood also looked as if he would claim a come-from-behind win taking NC Wesleyan's Kalle Nikunen to three sets before losing in 10-8 in the final set. Youngblood's match score was 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.
Swarthmore will look to get back to its winning ways when it takes on host Salisbury tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
