Givans Ties 55m Hurdles Mark to Lead Garnet Indoor Track at Season-Opener
HAVERFORD, Pa. - Sophomore Kenyetta Givans tied her own Swarthmore College school record in the 55m hurdles, finishing with a time of 8.58 to lead the Garnet women's indoor track team at the season opening Jack Pyrah Invitational on Saturday evening from Haverford College.

Givans tied the College's 55m hurdles mark with a time of 8.58.
Givans placed fifth in the 55m hurdles, but first among Division III competitors.
Several other Garnet women turned in outstanding performances at the season-opening event. Sophomore Melissa Frick took fifth - first among Division III competitors - in the women's 3000m run with a time of 10:44.43.
Senior Lauren DeLuca earned the Garnet's only first-place finish of the day, taking first in the 800m run with a time of 2:23.07, followed closely by teammate senior Mariel Fiegan (2:35.41/3).
Sophomore Nichole Cox finished third in the women's high jump, clearing 4'11.00" to lead all Division III competitors.
Freshman Jen Johnson took second in the women's 1 mile run, finishing with a time of (5:31.28)
- just three seconds behind first.
Sophomore Ogechi Irondi was the Garnet's top finisher in the 300 meter dash, finishing with a time of 45.95.
The Garnet return to action on January 8th with the Delaware Invitational.
