Garnet Swim to Great Start in Swat Invite
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Garnet made a splash in day one of the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday in Ware Pool. Senior Anne Miller finished second in the 500-yard freestyle touching the wall in 5:14.33. Freshmen Jake Benveniste (4:51.71) and Tyler Hanson (4:56.03) finished two and three in the 500-yard freestyle to round out the Garnet's domination of the event.
Sophomore Rosalie Lawrence snagged 15 points for the Garnet women finishing fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:20.06. In the 400-yard medley relay, Miller, Senior Claire Shelden, Junior Stephanie Su and Junior Melinda Neal took home the third spot in 4:16.76.
Freshman Daniel Duncan clocked in a time of 2:03.72 in the 200-yard IM to pull of a second place finish. The men's 400-yard medley relay team of Senior Michael Ahn, Junior Sterling Satterfield and freshmen Roger Chin and Duncan also swam for a great time of 3:41.49 to capture second.
The Garnet will be back in action on day two of the Swarthmore Invitational on Saturday December 5th. Swimming starts at 9:30 AM.
