Joslyn Young Named Second-Team Centennial Conference
LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior captain Joslyn Young of the Swarthmore College field hockey team has been named to the Centennial Conference second team, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Young (Ann Arbor, Mich./Community) was one of the Garnet's top players throughout the 2009 season, finishing the season with four goals and two assists while leading the team with a .444 shooting percentage. Young was also selected to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll earlier in the month.
Off the field, Young is involved with Learning for Life, the Swarthmore Asian Organization and is a Lang Opportunity Scholar and Writing Associate. She also started a youth media program in Chester and is looking into teaching or journalism.
This is Young's first selection to the All-Conference team. She is the 22nd Swarthmore field hockey player (fifth midfielder) to earn a spot on the second team.
