Rose Leads Cross Country Women to Fifth-Place Finish at Centennial Championship
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Hannah Rose led the pack for the Swarthmore College women's cross country team, coming in 17th place with a time of 24:27.43 to help the Garnet earn a fifth-place team finish (39) at the Centennial Conference championship on Saturday afternoon from Gettysburg College.
Johns Hopkins defended its women’s title while Emily Lipman of Haverford won the women’s individual title (22:40.66).
Four other members of the Garnet found themselves within the Top 30. Senior Nyika Corbett crossed the finish line in a time of 24:41.49, good for 21st place. Fellow senior Lauren DeLuca finished 27th with a time of 24:52.97 while sophomore Megan Lenfast rounded out the Top 30 finishers with a time of 25:11.76, good for 30th place.
Other Swat racers included junior Rebecca Woo (25:37.30/43), sophomore Amanda Eng (26:11.57/53), senior Ashley Davies 26:12.12/54), and junior Caitlin Russell (27:22.76/74).
The Garnet return to action in two weeks with the running of the NCAA Mideast Regional.
