Genny Pezzola Earns Centennial Conference Performer of the Week Honors For Second Time

LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Genny Pezzola of the Swarthmore College volleyball team has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for the week ending October 6, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Pezzola has powered the Garnet to a 3-0 start in Centennial Conference play.

This is the second time this season that Pezzola has been named Player of the Week; she shared the honor with McDaniel's Taylor Herrgott for the week ending September 13.

Pezzola powered the Garnet to a pair of Conference wins to boost its Centennial record to 3-0.  She hit .477 for the week with 37 kills (5.29 per set) in a 3-0 win against Washington and a 3-1 triumph at McDaniel.  Pezzola had 23 kills with a team-high 15 digs vs. the Green Terror. Pezzola currently leads the Centennial Conference in points and kills per game.

The Garnet return to action Thursday when it hosts Johns Hopkins in a crucial Centennial Conference battle. Play is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
