McMinn Finishes in Top 10 To Pace Cross Country at Paul Short Run
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman John McMinn continued the outstanding start to his collegiate career, covering the course of the Men's White Race at the Paul Short Run in a time of 26:21 , good for ninth place at the nationally-renown race on Friday afternoon from Lehigh University.
As a team, the Garnet finished in fifth place with a total of 186 points.
For McMinn, this is the third time in three races - his first three at Swarthmore - that he has been the Garnet's top finisher.
Fellow freshmen Jacob Phillips and Brian King also earned a Top 20 finishes for the Garnet, with Phillips finishing in 16th place with a time of 26:36 and King coming in right behind with a time of 25:38 (17th). Freshman Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey (26:49/27) and sophomore Chris Wickham (28:39/117) rounded out the rest of the Swat runners.
Shawn Andrea of Philadelphia University was the top overall finisher (25:39) while the University of Mary Washington captured first place in the team competition (116 points).
