Swarthmore Rolls to 3-0 Victory in Conference Opener
BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Swarthmore (9-4) traveled to Bryn Mawr College on Wednesday night where it would open up its conference schedule. The Garnet made the visit quick as sophomore OH Genny Pezzola led the team to a 3-0 victory.
Freshman Allie Coleman led the team with 25 assists.
Wednesday night was home to the conference opener between the Swarthmore Garnet and the Bryn Mawr Owls. The Garnet made quick work of the Owls as they won in three sets 25-23, 25-26 and 25-14.
Freshman Allie Coleman anchored the offense with 25 assists while Pezzola followed through on them with 12 kills. Pezzola and Coleman each tacked on three aces in the match to lead the team to the shutout.
The match wasn't all offense. The Swarthmore defense carried its weight as well as senior Johanna Bond held off the Owl attack with eight digs. Coleman and Pezzola combined for 17 digs.
The will be back in action on Saturday September 26th when they make the trip to the the Richard Stockton Quad meet. Action is set to start at 10 AM.
