Field Hockey Cruises to 6-0 Victory Over Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. - Freshman Katie Teleky scored two goals and freshman Sophia Agathis added a goal and two assists as the Swarthmore field hockey team (3-3) cruised to a 6-0 victory over Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon.

Swarthmore got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half and continued its offensive domination in the second half, posting four more en route to the victory.

Captains sophomore Sophia Ferguson and senior Joslyn Young had a pair of goals between them while junior Sarah McCabe also tacked another one on for the Garnet.

The Garnet had a field day, out shooting the Mighty Macs 19-3.  Swarthmore also had a lopsided 16-6 advantage on penalty corners.

In goal for the Garnet, junior Katie Ashmore and senior Gina Grubb split time in the game and combined for three saves.

Swarthmore returns to action on Wednesday September 23 when Neumann University visits Clothier Field.  Sticks hit the field at 4:30 PM.
