Genny Pezzola Shares Centennial Conference Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Genny Pezzola of Swarthmore's volleyball team has been named the Centennial Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending September 13, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Pezzola led Swarthmore to the Garnet Classic Championship

Pezzola (Oakland, CA/St. Mary's College HS) was named the MVP of the Garnet Classic this past weekend, leading her team to a 4-0 weekend and tournament championship.  She rose to the occasion in the championship match against Cabrini College scoring 23 kills and 16 digs and hitting .377.  Pezzola hit .297 for the weekend, averaging 4.33 kills/set, 3.3 digs/set, and 1.1 service aces/set.  Pezzola has been a rock for Swarthmore all season carrying them to their 7-2 overall record thus far.

The Garnet return to the court this Wednesday September 16 at 6:00 PM when it hosts Stevens.
