Its Raining Postponements

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Wash, rinse, repeat.  Tuesday, Swarthmore athletics, postponement.  In what has become a too-common occurrence, three Garnet spring events (baseball, softball and women's tennis) have been postponed due to heavy rains dousing the East Coast.

The Garnet baseball team was slated to visit Collegeville on Tuesday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. Centennial contest at Ursinus College.  The game has been moved to this Thursday, April 16 at the same location, same time.

Swarthmore softball has a new obstacle every week and the most recent one will be inactivity.  The Garnet, who saw its Saturday twin bill with McDaniel postponed, was scheduled to visit Washington College today for a Conference doubleheader.  The pair of games rained out and has been re-scheduled for this Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in Chestertown, Md.

Garnet women’s tennis benefited from a shortage of indoor facilities in Baltimore, getting a few more days to prepare for the eight-ranked Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays.  The scheduled 3:45 p.m. Tuesday match has been postponed and a new time and date are pending.

Fans still have the opportunity to catch exciting Garnet action on Tuesday.  The Swarthmore women’s lacrosse takes to the pitch at 5:00 p.m. against long-time rival Haverford with Hood Trophy points on the line.  If you are unable to make it to Clothier Stadium, follow the action with a live video stream and Live Stats function.
