Showers Bring Schedule Changes for Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- April showers better bring out the most beautiful May flowers, because right now the weather has brought nothing but headaches to the Swarthmore spring teams. Three more contests, involving baseball, softball and women's lacrosse, have been altered due to heavy winds and rain zooming up the East Coast.
The softball team was scheduled to make the long journey to Gettysburg College on Saturday, April 4. The doubleheader has been postponed to Sunday, April 19.
The Swarthmore baseball team had its third postponement in the last week with its scheduled Friday afternoon game at Washington College delayed until Monday, April 6. The first-pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m. in Chestertown, Md.
The weather has begun to clear and Swarthmore is hopeful that its Saturday doubleheader with national finalist Johns Hopkins will begin as planned at 12:30 p.m. at Clothier Fields. Fans can follow the action via Live Stats by inserting the following link into their browser of choice:

The Garnet women’s lacrosse benefitted from the downpour on Friday morning as the poor field conditions at Bryn Mawr College forced the scheduled 1:00 p.m. Centennial match-up to be relocated to Clothier Field at Swarthmore College. The two Tri-Co rivals have set the first draw for approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. The women will play 30 minutes following the 1:00 p.m. men’s lacrosse game between home town Swarthmore and visiting McDaniel College.
