Hockey Named Top Division III All-Academic Team

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Nine Swarthmore field hockey players have been named to the 2008 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Academic Squad, posting the highest team grade point average in all of Division III.

Student-athletes selected for the squad are nominated by the head coaches and have attained a minimum overall grade-point average of at least 3.30 through the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.

Senior Natalie Stone is a three-time selection to the team, while classmates Sarah Reynolds and Jordan Schmidt, and junior Joslyn Young were named for the second time. First time selections were Katie Ashmore, Sophia Ferguson, Gina Grubb, Hadlet Roach and Krista Scheirer.
