Hardy Pitches to Garnet Sucess
QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. -- The Swarthmore baseball team defeated Pitt-Bradford in an 11-7 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Queen Creek High School.
Swarthmore evened out to a 3-3 overall record while Pitt-Bradford ended a three game win streak to post an overall record of 3-1.
Garnet pitcher Adam Hardy '12 (Pompano Beach, Fla. / Pine Crest) entered the game in relief to help the Garnet escape a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh. Sophomore Andy Allen (Machester, Maine / St. Dominic) picked-up his first win of the season on the mound.
At the plate the Garnet were led by junior Jimmy Gill (Lewes, Del. / Cape Henlopen), who collected a two RBI hit while first year Mike Waterhouse (Weston, Conn. / Weston) collected two hits on the afternoon.
The Garnet will take off tomorrow to enjoy some sight seeing on their Spring Break Trip and return to baseball action on Thursday, March 12th. The double-header against Wesleyan is set to begin at 11:00 am (MST).
