Miller Heads Back To National Meet
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore junior Anne Miller has earned a spot in the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships for the third straight year. This year's national meet will be held at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis on March 18-21 and is hosted by Macalester College.
Miller (Buffalo, N.Y. / Buffalo Seminary), All-America four times in her first two seasons, qualified for both butterfly events (100- and 200-yards) after silver-medal performances at the 2009 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships on Feb. 20-22. Miller, also swimming in the 500-yard freestyle at the national meet, holds the Centennial and College record in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.44), which she set at the 2008 national meet with a second-place finish (the best finish in Swarthmore swimming history). Miller currently holds five College records, including the 100-yard butterfly, the 500-yard, 1000-yard and 1650-yard freestyle events, and as part of the 400-yard medley relay.
Miller’s selection marks the 49th national qualifier (men and women) under the watch of Swarthmore head swim coach Sue Davis.
