Givans Hurdles Past Competition

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- The Swarthmore track and field teams traveled to near by Haverford College to compete in the annual Keogh Invite on Friday evening.

Freshman Kenyetta Givans (Conshohocken, Pa. / Plymouth-Whitemarsh) placed second in the women’s 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.90.

In the women’s 800-meter run senior Natalie Stone (Philadelphia, Pa. / Friends Select) marked a season-best with a third place finish-time of 2:25.11 which qualifies her for next week’s Centennial Conference Championship.

Senior Connor Darby (Nashville, Tenn. / MLK) led the way for the men’s team placed fifth in the men’s 400-meter dash, this was his first time running the event this season and he qualified for the Centennial Champions clocking in at 53.12.

The teams will train all week to prepare for the 2009 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships being held on the campus of Ursinus College.
