Allen Scores Big From Downtown
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Junior guard Matt Allen scored 20 points for the Swarthmore men's basketball team in a 65-63 win over Arcadia in Tarble Pavilion on Tuesday evening.
Although it was a close one till the end, it was Swarthmore (1-2) who pulled through with three players reaching double-digits in the scoring column. The Garnet was led by Allen (Seattle, Wash. / Lakeside) who nailed four three pointers and got Swarthmore going with 10 first-half points. Senior forward Raul Ordonez (Miami, Fla. / Belen Jesuit Prep) registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while sophomore forward Sam Lacy (Jericho, Vt. / Mount Mansfield Union) scored 10 points and blocked four shots.
The Garnet take a week off for the holiday break and will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 3, hosting Centennial-foe McDaniel in a 7:30 p.m. tilt.
