Gunter Named All-Centennial
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore senior Ashley Gunter was selected All-Centennial for field hockey, in a vote by the Conference had coaches. Gunter is a second-team selection.
Gunter (Crisfield, Md. / Worcester Prep), a midfielder, has been a key starter in the Garnet midfield for the past three years. The senior captain led Swarthmore with eight assists this season, tied for sixth in the Conference. Gunter finished with 12 points, third-best on the Garnet.
Off the field, Gunter majors in psychology with minors in biology and Black Studies. Last summer Gunter worked with Breakthrough Collaborative, a national non-profit that increases educational opportunity for high-potential, low-income middle school students and inspires outstanding college and high school students to pursue careers in education.
This is Gunter’s first selection to the All-Conference team. She is the 21st Swarthmore field hockey player (fourth midfielder) to earn a spot on the second team.
