Garnet Sweep Doubles in Central PA

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore (11-4, 9-1 CC) dropped a 7-2 decision on Franklin & Marshall (4-8, 3-6 CC) in Centennial Conference women's tennis action on Saturday afternoon.

Swarthmore rolled past the Diplomats picking up all three wins in doubles action. Regionally ranked #14 doubles pair Jennie Park '09 (Rockford, Ill. / Guilford) and Rachel Wallwork '10 (Washington, D.C. / Georgetown Day) picked up an 8-1 win at the number one position. Erica Lukoski '08 (Shoreham, N.Y. / Shoreham-Wading River) and Luann Cignavitch '11 (Charleston, S.C. / Porter-Gaud School) won 8-5 while Kearney Bangs '10 (Kingston, Wash. / North Kitsap) and Marissa Lee '09 (Cary, N.C. / Cary Academy) closed doubles with a score of 8-6.

The Garnet won four of the six singles slots to win the match. Wallwork remains undefeated in Centennial singles playing all eight matches in the number one position.

The Garnet will travel to The College of New Jersey for their final match of the regular season on Tuesday, April 22 before they gear up for the 2008 Centennial Conference Championships next weekend
