He is Armand On the Course

LEBANON, Pa. -- Swarthmore senior Armand Russo posted the low score for the Garnet golf team at the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational played at the Lebanon Country Club Monday afternoon.

Swarthmore finished 15th out of 21 teams at the par-72, 6564-yard course, posting a team score of 368. Albright captured the team championship with a 321, followed by Widener (323), host Lebanon Valley (330), Cabrini (331) and Moravian.

Russo (Bloomfield, N.J. / Bloomfield) finished in the top 60 with a round of 89 while teammates Darren Johnson ’08 (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge County) and Jeffrey Lazarus ’10 (Woodcliff, N.J. / Pascack Hills) posted identical scores of 92.

Kyle Durham from Widener earned medalist honors, shooting a 74 while Corey Wenger from Messiah finished second with a 76.

Swarthmore takes a trip to Northeast Philadelphia on Friday afternoon, playing in a quad-match with host Holy Family, Cabrini and Philadelphia Biblical at the Torresdale Frankford Country Club. Tee-time is set for 1:00 p.m.
