Lazarus Comes Back to Life

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. -- Garnet sophomore Jeffrey Lazarus tied to medalist honors with a seven-over 78 in a quad-match hosted by Swarthmore at Rolling Green Golf Club on a dreary Monday afternoon.

Widener took top team honors with a total of 339, followed by Swarthmore (343), Arcadia (386) and Gwynedd-Mercy (424).

Jeffrey Lazarus ‘10Lazarus (Woodcliff, N.J. / Pascack Hills) overcame the on-and-off rain in Delaware (PA) County, posting a 40 on the front and then carded a 38 on the back nine to post his lowest score of the young season. He (pictured left) tied with Widener’s Kyle Durham for the low round of the afternoon.

Swarthmore’s Armand Russo ’08 (Bloomfield, N.J. / Bloomfield) posted an 87 while sophomore Kelly Schoolmeester (Irmo, S.C. / Irmo) registered his best round of the year with an 88. Senior Michael Johns (Wilmington, Del. / St. Andrew’s) carded a 90 while sophomore Andy Hoot (Aston, Pa. / Sun Valley) circled the course with a season-best 95.

The Garnet head north for their next match, taking part in the Lebanon Valley Tournament on April 7. Tee-time at the Lebanon Valley Country Club is set for 12:30 p.m.
