Garnet Scores Drop on Day Two
ABBOTSTOWN, Pa. -- The Swarthmore golf team dramatically improved their team score on the second day of competition at the McDaniel Invitational, lowering the overall score 20 strokes at the Bridges Golf Club Sunday morning.
The Garnet posted a team score of 339 on day two, totaling 698 for the two-day event. St. John Fisher (N.Y.) took top honors with a 620 total (315/305). Swarthmore finished in 11th place.
Garnet sophomore Jeffrey Lazarus (Woodcliff, N.J. / Pascack Hills) had the low score of the day for Swarthmore with an 83. He finished two strokes behind teammate Michael Bernasek ’09 (Faifield, Conn. / Hopkins School) who posted a 170 (84-86).
Pat Serfass from Susquehanna was the top finisher, posting a 149 (77-72).
The Garnet return home to Rolling Green Golf Club on Monday, March 31, hosting Gwynedd-Mercy, Arcadia, Widener and Eastern. Tee-time is 1:00 p.m.
