#3 Bullets Victorious Over Garnet
GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The third-ranked Gettysburg Bullets (9-0, 3-0 CC) downed the Swarthmore Garnet (4-4, 0-1 CC) by a score of 21-3 in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.
Garnet attack Amy Vachal ’11 (Somerset, N.J. / Rutgers Prep) scored one unassisted goal in each half for Swarthmore. Sophomore midfielder Alex Gilbert-Bono (Wellesley, Mass. / St. Mark's) picked up her sixth goal of the season in the first half.
Garnet netminder Susannah Blair ’08 (Princeton, N.J. / Princeton Day) collected eight saves for the afternoon before Allison Grein ’10 (Floral Park, N.Y. / Floral Park) relieved her in the second half.
The Garnet defense totaled 10 caused turnovers and picked up 18 ground balls for the afternoon.
Swarthmore returns to Centennial Conference action on Thursday, March 27 when they host defending national champion Franklin & Marshall in a 7:00 p.m. game.
