Stanley Leads Garnet at Seven Sisters

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Swarthmore harrier Emma Stanley '09 was selected All-Tournament at the annual Seven Sisters Championship on Saturday morning in suburban Boston, leading the Garnet to a fourth-place finish at Wellesley College.

Mount Holyoke won the team title, accumulating 52 points to out-distance Wellesley (59), Smith (62) and Swarthmore (78). Smith's Anna Cressotti captured the individual crown, finishing with a time of 18:47.

Stanley finished tenth out of 94 runners, completing the 5K course in19:38 to earn her third consecutive All-Tournament selection.

Sophomore Nyika Corbett continued to improve at just the right time, finishing right behind Stanley in eleventh place (19:39). Six Garnet women found their way into the top-30: Ashley Davies '10 (14th, 19:46), Bess Ritter '09 (21st, 20:11), Kathy Feeney '09 (22nd, 20:12), Chelsea Brett '11 (24th, 20:18), Lauren DeLuca '10 (26th, 20:22) and Faith Pampel '09 (29th, 20:27).

The Garnet have two weeks to prepare for the 2007 Centennial Conference Championships, scheduled to be run on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Lancaster, Pa. at 11:00 a.m.
