Garnet Were Out of Range
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore women's field hockey (4-3) recorded a 3-1 loss to visiting Drew (6-3) Monday night at Clothier Field.
The first goal of the night was came off a penalty corner served by Drew sophomore midfielder Nicole DiBattista (Newton, N.J. / Kittatinny), while senior Hillary DeCataldo (Guilford, Conn. / Guilford) scored at 20:11. Scoring her fifth goal of the season, sophomore Elizabeth Law (Manawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) received a pass at the 28:33-mark from senior Meghan Santaniello (Somers Point, N.J. / Mainline Regional) to score the Ranger's second goal of the night.
Starting the second half of the game, the Garnet were behind 2-0. Joslyn Young '10 (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Community) found her self with her first goal of the season. With 41:52 on the clock, Young knocked in a rebound through heavy Ranger traffic. Nearing the end of regulation time senior Jen Schoepflin (Sewell, N.J. / Washington Township) posted her fourth goal of the season at 67:34 for the Rangers.
Garnet freshman goalkeeper Katie Ashmore (Princeton, N.J. / Princeton) recorded seven saves during the match. Sophomore Stef Rutowski (Wilmington, Del. / Tower Hill) net-minder posted six saves for the Ranger defense.
