Sartori Named All-Centennial

2007 ALL-CENTENNIAL TEAM

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore College defender Dan Sartori '08 has been named a 2007 All-Centennial Conference honorable mention selection, as voted by the conference coaches and announced by the Conference office Thursday afternoon.

Sartori, a junior, led the team with 44 ground balls and anchored a Garnet defense that allowed 7.8 goals per game, good enough for sixth in the Centennial Conference, the strongest men's lacrosse conference in Division III with four teams nationally-ranked during the 2007 season.

A biology and economics double-major, Sartori has started in 39 of the 40 games he has played in a Garnet uniform. He earned a spot on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row.

Sartori is the first Swarthmore player to earn All-Centennial honors since midfielder Tim Chryssikos '05 made second-team and defender Charlie Sussman '05 was selected honorable mention in 2005.  He is the eight Swarthmore men's lacrosse player selected for All-Centennial and the fifth defender.

Swarthmore finished the 2007 season with an overall record of 5-7, going 2-6 in the Centennial.
