Swarthmore Swings Second at Springhaven



MATCH RESULTS

WALLINGFORD, Pa. -- Swarthmore placed three golfers in the top ten to take second place at the Tom Ruggieri Invitational II, hosted by Widener University at the par-70 6355-yard Springhaven Club.

Widener took top team honors with a 304 followed by Swarthmore (318), Rutgers-Camden (329), Immaculata (390) and Chestnut Hill (415). 

Garnet sophomore David Lau led the Garnet with a seven-over 77 for sixth place while senior Zach Moody and sophomore Michael Bernasek both posted 78s to tie for seventh place.  Lau broke 80 for the second time in 2006-07 while both Moody and Bernasek established low rounds for the season with their scores Tuesday.  

Freshman Jeff Lazarus completed the scoring for Swarthmore with an 85, taking 12th position out of 23 duffers.

The Garnet head to Northeast Philadelphia on Friday, April 13 to a match hosted by Holy Family at Torresdale-Frankford Country Club.  Tee time is set for 1:00 p.m.
