The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) named eight members of the Swarthmore team to the Division III All-Academic Squad for the 2006 season. The inductees include Abigail Fischer '08, Karen Lorang '07, Julie Monaghan '07, Saranne Perman '07, Lindsay Roth '07, Jordan Schmidt '09, Natalie Stone '09 and Rachel Turner '08.

Student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2006-2007 academic year in order to be selected onto the team.

Swarthmore was one of 91 teams also selected for the National Academic Team Award after accumulating a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Lorang was a second team All-Centennial selection in the 2006 season. It was the third time the senior goalie was given the honor, having attained the same recognition in 2003 and 2005.  She started 12 games this season, posting a 1.62 goals against average (GAA) and a save percentage of .793, both good for second-best in the Centennial.

Fischer finished the season as the offensive leader for the Garnet, with 20 points on nine goals and two assists.

Swarthmore completed the 2006 season with an 9-8 record, including a 4-6 mark in the Conference.
