Reynolds, Sargent In Finals at ITA Southeast Regionals

DOUBLES' CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Swarthmore senior Sonya Reynolds won two more singles' matches to advance to the semifinals of the Championship Bracket at the Wilson ITA Southeast Regional Women's Tennis Championships held on the campus of Mary Washington University. Reynolds also teamed with classmate Sara Sargent to claim a spot in the finals of the Doubles' Championship Bracket.
Reynolds continued her strong start to the fall season, taking down No. 9 seed Lauren Caire from Washington & Lee 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 16. Reynolds then made quick work of the No. 6 seed Mona Iyer from Carnegie Mellon, winning 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinal round. The Swarthmore senior will face No. 2 seed Katie Tabb from W&L in the semifinals on Monday morning.
In doubles' action, Reynolds and Sargent downed Barbara Baskins and Katie Gaskins from Franklin & Marshall 8-2 in the quarterfinals and then upset the second seed, Katie Tabb and Ginny Wortham from Washington & Lee, by a score of 8-6. The Swarthmore tandem will face the top-seeded pair from Carnegie Mellon, Iyer and Amy Stolach, at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
