SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Freshman outfielder Kristin Caspar delivered the game-winning run with a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning to send Swarthmore (17-12, 4-4 CC) to a 7-6 win over visiting Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon. The Bullets won game one 8-3 as the teams split a Centennial doubleheader.

Swarthmore's win in game two was the 17th of the season, breaking the 18-year old school record set by the 1988 squad (16-6).  The Garnet also put to bed a 11-game skid to the Bullets, dating back to a 4-3 Swarthmore win in 2000.  It is just the second time in 26 games (2-24 dating back to 1994) with Gettysburg that the Garnet have come out on top.

Swarthmore junior Marianne Klingaman was the story of game two, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBIs.  It is the first home run of the season for Klingaman in just her sixth at bat.  The two-run shot in the fifth gave Swarthmore its first lead of the game at 6-4.  Klingaman had taken the mound in relief in the top of the inning and pitched three innings to earn her fourth win (4-4) of the season.  Classmate Kelly Siano also had a good game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs.

In game one, senior outfielder Danielle Miller was a perfect 4-for-4 with a run while sophomore Katie Gold added two hits and two RBIs.

Swarthmore looks to keep pace in the battle of a Centennial Conference playoff berth, hosting Washington on Tuesday, April 19 in a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
