Swarthmore Competes at Bobcat Open
AUSTIN, Tx. -- Kathy Feeney '09 and Faith Pampel '09 hit their seedings in the 1500 meters as Swarthmore opened the 2006 outdoor season at the Bobcat Open at Texas State on Friday evening.
Feeney, seeded at 5:15.00, missed the time by a hair, finishing 11th ina time of 5:15.33. Pampel was right behind in 12th position, finishing in a time of 5:20.30 (she was seeded at 5:20).
Competing in the meet was host Texas State, Southland Conference rival Texas-San Antonio as well as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi who will join the SLC next year. Also competing were teams from Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas-Pan American, Trinity (Tx.), Incarnate Word, and Texas Lutheran.
The Garnet take three weeks to prepare for the Widener Open, set to run at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1.
