#1 Bears Take Down Garnet 4-1
Swarthmore (6-5, 2-3 CC) fell to top-ranked Ursinus (10-1, 6-0 CC) 4-1 on a wet Tuesday evening in Collegeville, Pa.
Playing under the lights for the first time on their home turf, the Bears jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first half.
Swarthmore got on the board at the beginning of the second half. Senior forward Heidi Fieselmann put in her tenth goal of the season, a team-high, at 42:31 off a pass from Garnet defender Julie Monaghan '07.
Swarthmore goalie Karen Lorang '07 made 16 saves as the Bears obtained a significant advantage in the shot category (28-3).
The Garnet will host McDaniel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14 in their next match.
