Swarthmore Runs Sixth at Blue Jay Invite
Freshman Emma Stanley finished 11th out of 162 runners to lead the Garnet to a sixth place finish at the Blue Jay Invitational at Oregon Ridge Park, Md. on Friday afternoon.
Stanley was the top Swarthmore finisher, completing the 6K course in 23:28. Bess Ritter '09 fininshed 30th in a time of 24:31 and teammate Debbie Farrelly '06 was right behind in 31st (24:34). Faith Pampel was the other Swarthmore runner to finish in the top 50, coming in 48th in a time of 25:01.
For their next race, the Garnet travel to Massachusetts for the annual Seven Sisters Championship on Saturday, October 15. The race starts at 11:00 a.m. and is hosted by Smith College.
