Blue Jays Fly Past Garnet 3-1

Johns Hopkins ended Swarthmore's three-game win streak on Tuesday evening, downing the Garnet 3-1 in Baltimore, Md. The Blue Jays won by scores of 30-17, 27-30, 30-20, 30-23.

Swarthmore slips to 9-5 with the loss, and 3-2 in conference play.

Junior Erica George led the Garnet offensive attack with 10 kills while senior Emily Conlon dished out 33 assists. Freshmen Jen Wang and Erin Heaney each had double-digit digs, with 15 and 13, respectively. Sophomore Vanessa Wells knocked down four blocks for Swarthmore.

The Garnet will host the annual Seven Sisters Tournament this weekend, October 8-9, in Tarble Pavilion. Swarthmore's first match will be at 9:00 a.m. against Mt. Holyoke.
