Garnet Grab Gold in 4×800 at CC Meet
The Swarthmore 4x800 relay team of Debbie Farrelly '06 (above) Sarah Hobbs '06, Kavita Hardy '08 and Elizabeth Gardner '05 earned the Garnet's first gold medal of this year's Centennial Conference Track and Field Championship by crossing the finish line in 9:36.21 on the second day of competition at Muhlenberg College.
Rebecca Burrow '08 set a school record in the pole vault by clearing 9 feet 0.25 inches to place fourth and Jessica Zagory '05 set a personal best in the high jump leaping 5 feet 0.5 inches to finish in fourth place.
Burrow also finished eighth in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet 9.75 inches and Jen Stevenson '06 finished in 14th place with a jump of 15-7.75.
Swarthmore is currently in eighth place with 18.5 points. The meet concludes tomorrow with the first event beginning at 11 am.
