Fuhr Leads Garnet to Seventh Straight

Jessica Fuhr '07 scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Garnet to a 66-49 victory at Lincoln. Swat improves to 12-6 overall as the victory is the team's seventh in a row.

The Garnet got off to a fast start scoring the game's first eight points. Kristin Lee '05 and Fuhr each scored eight points in the half in building a 34-22 lead.

Swarthmore took control of the game by scoring the first nine points of the second half to take a 43-22 advantage with 17:12 remaining in the game.

Jen Stevenson '06 added 11 points and Karen Berk '08 chipped in with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Garnet have strung together seven consecutive wins for the first time since the 1975-76 squad closed the season with five in a row and the 1976-77 team opened its season with two victories.

The last time the Garnet won seven in a row in one season was during 1938-39 campaign when the team won eight straight.

Swarthmore looks for number eight on Saturday when it visits No. 22 Dickinson in a 1 p.m. Centennial Conference match up. The top team in the CC, Dickinson is 17-1 overall and 12-1 in the conference. The Red Devils are working on their own school record 13 game winning streak.
