Berk Shoots Garnet to Sixth In A Row

Karen Berk '08 scored a game-high 27 points and Jen Stevenson '06 chipped in nine points as Swarthmore won their sixth game in a row, defeating Bryn Mawr 63-36 on Saturday afternoon.

The Garnet shot 50% from the field in the first half to build a comfortable 38-20 lead at the intermission. Berk dominated the half, grabbing eight boards while shooting nine for ten from the floor for 20 points.

Stevenson, fifth in the Centennial Conference in three-point field percentage (41%), sank two buckets from deep in the second half as Swarthmore cruised to their 24th straight win over the Owls, dating back to 1994.

Senior co-captain Ali Wolff played another solid all-around game, registering seven points, a season-high ten rebounds, and a team-high three steals.

Deb Charamella led the Owls (2-17, 0-12 CC) with 10 points while Amy Johnson added six points and six rebounds.

Swarthmore (11-6, 8-4 CC) will travel down Baltimore Pike to square off with Lincoln University in a 7:00 p.m. contest on Tuesday, February 1st.
