Garnet Volleyball Fall Break Trip to California: Day 1
CALIFORNIA - Airplanes, west coast hospitality, home-cooked meals and beautiful scenery; all on day one of the Swarthmore College volleyball team's first day of its fall break trip to California.
At 10:45 am on Wednesday October 13th the Garnet volleyball team would make its first team trip to the west coast in five years.
More than six hours in an airplane and a short stop in Las Vegas later the team touched down in Oakland, California to be greeted by junior Genny Pezzola's parents.
With a van filled with luggage and two filled with the girls, it was time to head to Palo Alto for a home-cooked meal compliments of sophomore Allison Coleman's parents.
The team was welcomed with the tantalizing scent of acorn squash, pesto pasta and home-baked banana bread; a perfect meal for a volleyball team in training.
After digesting with some piano playing and team song, the Garnet would head to San Francisco to take in some sights and dessert at the Ghirardelli Chocolate factory.
As the bay fog rolled into San Francisco, Swat would roll out on its way to Genny Pezzola's house for the night via Lombard Street, the worlds windiest road.
Day two is sure to be a busy day for the team, stay tuned for Thurday's events.
