Garnet Fall to Mules 8-4

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Offensive struggles in the second half doomed the Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team (7-7, 1-5 CC)  as the Muhlenberg Mules (8-5, 3-4 CC) would run past the Garnet 8-4.

Evans scored two goals to lead the Garnet offensive.

Junior Emily Evans led the Garnet attack in the first as she netted two goals to lead Swat to a 3-2 lead going into the half.  Sophomore Marie Mutryn would also score in the first half.

In the second half the Mule's defense held the Garnet to only six shots while Muhlenberg riddled senior keeper Allison Grein with 17 shots and six goals.  Swat was only able to successfully clear 13 of 27 attempts.

Junior Amy Vachal was the only Swarthmore player to score in the second half.

Grein had 13 saves in net for Swarthmore.

The Swat women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday April 21st when they travel to Haverford.  Play is slated to begin at 7 PM.
