Miller Earns Sixth Career All-America Honor With Record-Breaking Time in 100 Butterfly

MINNEAPOLIS - Swarthmore College senior women's swimmer Anne Miller finished in 14th place in the 100 yard butterfly at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday evening, touching the wall in a Swarthmore College record-breaking time of 56.66, earning All-America honors for the sixth time in her illustrious career.

With her sixth career All-American honor, Miller is now tied with Skye Fulkerson ’96 for the most All-American swimming honors in College history.

Miller broke the College record in the 100-yard butterfly.

With tonight's All-American Honorable Mention accolade,  Miller has now earned All-America honors in all four years swimming at Swarthmore. She earned a fifth-place finish in the 200 butterfly finals in 2009 (2:04.91), while also earning honors in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly in 2007 and 2008.

Miller is the first Swarthmore student-athlete to earn All-American honors during the 2009-10 season; junior women's basketball player Kathryn Stockbower was named an Academic All-American last month.

Ahead of Miller in 12th place was fellow Centennial Conference swimmer Rachel Glasser (56.60) of Washington College.

The senior has a chance to become a seven-time All-American in tomorrow's 200-yard butterfly.
