Rachel Wallwork Named Centennial Conference Tennis Performer of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior Rachel Wallwork of the Swarthmore College women's tennis team has been named the Centennial Conference Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Wallwork - the two-time Centennial Conference Performer of the Year - has been dominant to start the 2010 spring season. She is 2-0 in singles matches as well as 2-0 in her doubles competition, leading the Garnet to victories over NYU (5-4) and Oberlin (8-1). Against NYU on February 20th,   she recorded decisive No. 1 singles ( 6-3, 7-5) and doubles (8-2) victories, while keeping that momentum going with No.1 singles  6-2, 6-3) and doubles wins (8-1) against Oberlin over the weekend. Wallwork is currently 8-2 in overall singles play 2009-10 season, while finishing 2009 ranked No. 28 in Division III singles.

The Garnet (2-0) return to action on Thursday, March 11 with a trip to Salisbury. Action is slated to begin at 3:30.
