Garnet Badminton Completes Season Sweep of Bryn Athyn, 8-1
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College badminton team (3-1) completed a season sweep of Bryn Athyn College, defeating the Lions 8-1 on Monday evening from Tarble Pavilion.
Kramer led the Garnet once again, picking up three victories vs. Bryn Athyn.
Once again, the consistent stellar play of senior Kim Kramer was on display once again, as she defeated Ethan Daum 21-10 and 21-11.
The Garnet team as a whole was nothing short of dominant as the Garnet finished singles play with a clean slate of wins. Junior Maithili Parikh and senior Alice Xiang also put on strong performances as they cruised to easy wins. May Maam rounded up the group of singles winners with a 21-8 and 21-16 win over Gaby Gouto.
In doubles action, the fearsome duo of Kramer and Parikh overcame a 20-22 slip-up in game one before rebounding with a vengeance and came back to win the set with 21-9 and 21-6 wins.
The team will return to action at the Mid-Atlantic Classic tournament at Bryn Mawr College this weekend.
