Julia Luongo Named ECAC Second-Team Selection
CAPE COD, Mass. - Senior Julia Luongo of the Swarthmore College women’s soccer team has been named an ECAC South Division III second team all-star, the organization announced recently.
The senior midfielder makes the team for the first time. Luongo - the team captain - led the Swarthmore College women's soccer team to its third consecutive ECAC South Region Championship, defeating PSU-Behrend 1-0 at Altoona. Luongo made the best of her senior season and played an important role in the Garnet's 16-4-1 record netting five goals and playing in every game this season. Luongo led the team in shots on goal (30) and shots on goal percentage (.750).
Earlier in the year, Luongo was named to the first team of the All-Centennial Team with her teammate junior Megan Colombo. Junior Laura Bolger, freshman Alexa Ross, senior Maggie Delorme and sophomore Marie Mutryn were also all-Centennial selections.
