Three Members of Garnet Lacrosse Team Named to IWLCA Academic Squad
BOSTON - Marissa Schaffer '09, Hannah Jaicks '09, and Annie Carter '09 of the Swarthmore women's lacrosse team were named to the 2009 IWLCA Academic Squad, the organization announced earlier in the week.
Schaffer, Jaicks and Carter are three of the 407 student-athletes at 152 institutions honored for their excellence in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year. All student-athletes were nominated by their institutions and have attained at least junior standing academically. Nominees considered had a GPA of at least 3.5 or were in the top 10 percent of their squad.
The women's lacrosse team opens its season on Saturday, February 28th, when it hosts to the Tri-Co Invitational.
