Swat Swift as Lions

CHESTER, Pa. -- Five Swarthmore track & field runners registered personal bests at the Widener Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Neel Prakash (Paramus, N.J. / Paramus) field specialist competed in five events in preparation for his upcoming decathlon competition.

With a season-best in the 110-meter hurdles sophomore Chris Mayer-Bacon (Wenonah, N.J. / Gateway Regional) finished his race with 16.93 showing on the clock.

Freshman Chris Wickham (Ridgefield, Conn. / Wooster School) qualified for Conference Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase clocking in at 10:35.00 time good for fourth place.

Freshman Kenyatta Givans (Conshohocken, Pa. / Plymouth-Whitemarsh) shaved a few seconds off her personal best in the women’s 100-meter hurdles. She continues to get closer to the program’s best time but sits in second place with her 15.49 race-time.

In the women’s 1,500-meter run senior Cait Mullarkey (Wilmington, Del. / Ursuline) registered a personal-best with a second place time of 4:44.02.

Three runners posted personal bests in the women’s 800-meter run, they were paced by freshman Margret Lenfest (Birchrunville, Pa. / The Shipley School) (2:25.03). Just a step behind senior Kathy Feeney (Staatsburg, N.Y. / F.D. Roosevelt High School) clocked-in an 2:25.61 race-time while first year Hannah Rose (Cronton-Hudson, N.Y. / Croton-Harmon) finished her race in 2:27.19.

The Garnet track & field team will travel to the College of New Jersey for the second time this season to compete in the Lion’s Invite on Saturday, April 25th. The first gun is set to fire at 10:00 a.m.
