Kenyetta Givans Her All at Indoor Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Swarthmore freshman Kenyetta Givans shaved seconds off her school record on the last day of the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in the Floy Lewis Bakes Field House on the campus of Ursinus College.

The women’s 55-meter hurdles final ended in dramatic fashion as race officials had to look at the finish times to the 1,000th seconds mark. Givans (Conshohocken, Pa. / Plymouth-Whitemarsh) earned her first Centennial medal (a silver) with a time of 8.575.  The freshman  finished a heartbeat behind Haverford’s Eliza Reiss, who won the event with a 8.573 finish time.

For the second day in a row, Garnet senior Cait Mullarkey (Wilmington, Del. / Ursuline) just missed medaling in an event.  Running in a variety of events this weekend, Mullarkey on Sunday came up short by two one-hundreths in the women’s 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:21.95.
